Connecticut Real Estate

There are many popular areas to live in Connecticut. Greenwich, Connecticut, is an excellent place to live with easy access to Manhattan and beautiful waterfront communities. Home prices in Greenwich have continued to rise over the past year, with an average home sale price just under $2 million dollars. Inventory is limited in Greenwich, so it is not uncommon for buyers to experience multiple bids on properties within the first few days on the market. Greenwich also offers one of the lowest tax rates in Connecticut, which makes it an attractive place to own a home.

New London County, Connecticut, is located in the southeast corner of the state. New London County boasted the largest growth in sales volume and average sales price of a single family home over the past year, due largely to increases in new construction sales. New London County is home to a number of casinos and Pfizer (one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the U.S.), both of which create many jobs and relocate employees to Connecticut. Pfizer plans to build a new, state of the art clinical research center in the near future, and economists predict Connecticut will add between 12,000 and 16,000 jobs by the end of 2004. More jobs will bring more employees and revenue into Connecticut, which will be good news for the Connecticut real estate market.
